Can’t reproduce. Tried to open it in Firefox/chrome/safari. Works fine in all of them. My first guess would be that it’s an issue with the charset. Could it be that for some reason it uses ascii? The default should be utf-8 and it is on my machine. Could it be that you are using an ancient operating system or browser that hasn’t had an update for the last 3 decades. The values are correct in the html file & the Seher serves the file wirhlut changing it. The charset is hardcoded in starlette. Either ur Python version is so old that it isn’t working or it’s ur browser.

the issue is decently with the charset. it tries to read multi byte letters as single byte letters. that's why it looks that weird
