I think Scribes of the Cairo Genizah are using a recursive workflow where a set of tasks repeat until done, but I don’t think anyone needs to link a task back to itself either.

This seems like pretty low priority to me, but not sure if it's a wontfix?

There are some recursive workflows live on zooniverse.org, but I can't think of any cases where you'd want to link a task back to itself. This should be an easy fix when someone has an hour or so free to look at it.

Up to y'all to close it or not, but to me it looked like something not polished and looked like a bug with an easy fix. Allowing a project builder to shift around the order of drawing tools would be a higher priority fix than this #4472 in my opinion

Penguin Watch have just run into this bug, on their Wild Egg Hunt workflow (reported via email by @yshish.)

Re-opening this because the fix in #5925 isn't working any more, and the project builder now lets you link a task back to itself (under the next task dropdown.)

#7097 should finally fix this.
