Telegram as an email alternative

Currently email is used for logins and notifications. What do you think about Telegram as an optional alternative to that? Telegram has a really simple bot API: https://jlelse.blog/dev/telegram-go/

I can try and implement it in a PR. webmentiond might be a better replacement for my custom webmention implementation in my hugo-micropub backend. That would give me better moderation options and stop creating a lot of build triggers for my blog pipeline.
