Better drag to open a new tab

Whenever im trying to drag text to open a new tab, its difficult to get the position just right so that im not overwriting any tabs, and dragging to the new tab button opens it at the very bottom when new tabs are opened at the top so i have to scroll down and fish it back up, i was hoping some improvements could be made to this
