Filebeat is part of the ELK stack, and the flow is that it sends to Logstash, where the file is parsed and saved in Elasticsearch, where the information is indexed, so this general process is very similar to what we want.

Specifically Filebeat has a harvester, that seems to be really similar to what we want to archive.

The code is in go, but maybe something could be useful from there. https://github.com/elastic/beats/tree/master/filebeat
