UPDATE -READ COMMENTS [SOLUTION] - "unknown error" when playing song solution by - Malopieds #1775
Comments
Songs now only play for around 32 seconds before either giving another error or just freezing. It also gives an error when I try to seek. |
same, tho i can search normally for some reason |
I meant seeking like using the bar on the song, i can search just fine |
oh, yeah then seeking is also broken for me (its 4am where i live rn and i guess my sleep deprived brain read your comment wrong lol) |
Oh, lmao. |
READ THIS COMMENT TO ADD YOUR BACKUP SAVE
The diffrence between this forked version and the one i listed initially is the fact that it actually works 💀 . it actually lets you play the full song instead of giving the same error at 38% downsides :
it is now 1:50 AM on chrismas eve. i will now sleep lmao *PS. this comment will close the thread down because of the way these forums work. I will try to make another one if this has other issues as well. |
songs are just skipping for me even in the malopieds version. doesn't play any song at all. came here to see if anyone had opened the issue. any idea why it's just skipping them? |
thx for the solution but for some reason, after restoring my backup, outertune starts crashing whenever i try opening it. tho, if i had to guess, id say its probably a problem with my device |
use the other one i listed in the comments below ( the outertune one) |
metrolist is the most stable as of now. I've been using it for a couple of days after having tried outertune and it's been great so far, even better than the original lol |
If you want to recover your old song and playing working fine logout your account and good to go |
they really should update their api lots of people are waiting including me |
use the fork: https://github.com/Malopieds/InnerTune/releases/tag/v0.5.13 |
This fork cant play age restricted content either, for the record |
If you want to help you can test this build and report if it works:
|
@gechoto thank you for linking this build I have put below a video of the build (without restoring). It works pretty well and no bugs at all. But I hope you can release a version that will allow the use of restoring. |
I installed and once i restored my backup from outertune, the app crashed and every time i open it it crashes. |
Update: backup from innertune works fine. |
Yea it works fine |
Checklist
Steps to reproduce the bug
This is a custom fork made by malopieds who has made a custom fork for innertune. Its slightly different but it still works the same.
#PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS ISSUE DOWN UNLESS THE DEVELOPER HAS CREATED A UPDATE FIX#
For the people who has tried it out and says it doesn't work, it does. its confusing but here's how to solve it on THIS version only.
*NOTE - the error roots from a bug with youtube login bug within the app, if you simply dont want to restore your old music, playlist, downloads, etc, you can download the apk below and use it as you like. if not, make sure to back up before using this method.
after downloading the apk from this link - https://github.com/Malopieds/InnerTune/releases/tag/v0.5.12
You will be greeted by a non logged in screen just like this (ignore the custom font lmao, thats not what it will look for you) :
head into the backup page and do what you would normally do (restore the old file). here ive named mine stupid because this glitch is stupid lmao. :
after restoring (and this is where the people had errors) you will be faced with the same errors as before, but heres how to remove it (no this wont work with the original version). :
Go into Settings --> Content --> Your google username until you enter the google login page :
simply login as you normally would until you enter the ytmusic page
tap on your pfp icon and select "Sign Out* :
once you have done that, go back and there you have it. all the songs you search or anything else will be there for you. :
