Bug report

Describe the bug

Here is a clear and concise description of what the problem is:

Using Kore to control a Kodi box attached to a local network (i.e. 192.168.x.y) via an Android 12 phone. Kore will never lose connectivity with Kodi as long as mobile data is OFF. If mobile data is on as well as WiFi, Kore will lose connectivity to Kodi unless Kore and full screen and being used.

Expected Behavior

Here is a clear and concise description of what was expected to happen:

Kore should not lose its network connection to Kodi if mobile data is on and WiFi (connected to the local network) is also on.

Actual Behavior

Kore will lose its network connectivity to Kodi if mobile data and WiFi are on at the same time, unless Kore is actively being used to monitor or control Kodi. Once lost, connectivity does not return even if Kore is used. The only way to re-establish the connection is to turn off mobile data while leaving WiFi on, at which point connectivity will be restored.

Possible Fix

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Use a Android 12 mobile running Kore 3 to connect to an instance of Kodi on a WiFi network that only has local 192.168.x.y access
  2. Ensure mobile data is off and WiFi is on
  3. Use Kore to control Kodi
  4. Enable mobile data
  5. Kore connectivity will be lost even though WiFi is still on
  6. Attempt to use Kore and see that connectivity is lost
  7. Turn off mobile data
  8. Connectivity to Kodi from Kore will be restored

Debuglog

I do not know how to provide a debug log on Android. Perhaps you can enlighten me.

I've the exact same issue.
Deactivating the mobile data solved it.
Thanks for describing it, I wasn't able to see what was causing the problem.
I also have a Fairphone 4 with Android 13 and Kore 3.1.
