Example: fetch and parse a sitemap from WP (app router)

Overview

As per RFC #17 we need to supply examples and documentation on how to fetch and parse a sitemap from WordPress in a headless application.

We need to consider the following:

• A native sitemap from WordPress (e.g. wp-sitemap.xml)
• Sitemaps documentation for some of the common WP plugins such as Rank Math and Yoast SEO
