Pin selection for the DMX input should use the same method as pin selection for led preferences where the entry is a drop-down that indicates which pins are free and which are already assigned to prevent users selecting the same pin for different features of wled

I'm wondering if we should perhaps create a new issue to add a common feature of a drop-down for anywhere that we are asking the user to select a pin, be that for LED output, dmx config, usermods etc. Thoughts @DedeHai @willmmiles ?

Yes, absolutely. They should all be pre-loaded based on the pin manager state, and cross-wired so any changes on the active page are reflected in all other pin dropdowns.
