Populate map with various Point Of Interest data

OpenStreetMap provides a way of extracting data from their maps. See link for information how to do that. Maybe a new task should be created that would fetch new data every day/week. User should be given an option to select what kind of point he would like to see on map. But I guess that would be for another ticket.

I believe also Google Maps could provide this data? So yes, good idea, should be researched a bit and find good data sources.

There are also sources which use user-contributed content.

For example, Wikipedia has a lot of content geotagged.
