<h2>Starting measurements</h2>
<p>What we measure, <strong>we improve</strong>. During your initial transformation programme, it’s useful to gauge your progress at a few key points – by measuring how your body is responding.</p>
<p>While we’re accustomed to measuring weight, a tape measure and photos tell you what’s happening to <strong>specific parts of the body</strong>. As an example, and depending on how far along your health journey you are, weight can sometimes be similar to the previous measurement (which can be disheartening), yet our waist has shrunk and our arms have gained muscle.</p>
<p>Importantly, measuring <em>isn’t</em> something that should become a habit. My coaching will <strong>enable you to see and feel progress</strong>. Knowing what gets results means your time and energy needn't be spent measuring long-term.</p>
<p>A few tips:</p>
<ul>
<li>Measure around the same time of day (with similar amounts of food and water in you!)</li>
<li>Place the tape measure at:
<ul>
<li>Arms – widest part, usually mid-point between your shoulder and elbow</li>
<li>Waist – at the bellybutton, when relaxed, after exhaling normally</li>
<li>Thighs – widest part, usually mid-point between your buttocks and knee</li>
<li>Bum – at the bit that sticks out the most</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Use the example photos to guide your pose<!--, and help place the tape measure--></li>
<li>If you can’t find someone to take the photos, phone cameras have timer options</li>
</ul>
