Some game controllers (mine is the GameSir G8+) are recognized by Android as a “keyboard,” which triggers the system default of restarting an app when connected/disconnected. I read online that it only takes a few lines of code to stop this behavior.
On another note, to anyone who uses my controller model, set it to “PlayStation” or “Switch” mode, and the game won’t crash when connecting the controller.
