Is it possible to enable HiDPI 1080p on a 1440p display?

As per the title. I have BetterDummy set up but the only output that's HiDPI is 720p; 1080p is blurry. I've previously been able to get this display to display HiDPI with SwitchResX but that no longer works so was hoping BetterDummy would provide the solution.

Yes, BetterDummy should give you 1080p HiDPI among other HiDPI resolutions for your 1440p display if properly set up.

Did you follow the instructions found in the opening page (README)? If so, can you show me what do you see under Displays?

I don't clearly see what the problem is. Why don't you select 1920 x 1080 on this screen? :)

I did select 1080p but that results in an incredibly blurry display. The signal to my monitor is 1440p, but the image looks like upscaled 1080p rather than a higher resolution downscaled.

That doesn't seem right. Can you show me the Displays menu after making the selection? Interestingly, the screenshots you provided seem to be HiDPI which is only possible if you are running at HiDPI resolution. Also, can you show me what do you see under System Report» Graphics/Displays?

Already selected, but no hidpi tag shown, but low resolutions is shown. Still got blurry screen. Do you have any idea?

Btw where does the first screenshot come from? Can you show it in context?

It comes from about -> displays

So, if I want to get betterdummy at work, I can change my cable till I got a correct resolution on my system/report.

Update about my 'showing 2k but 1080p in system info'
I switch to a display port cable, now the system recognized it perfectly, and better dummy works perfect. Thank you for your excellent work. And for those who might have the same problem, change the cable, check the system info resolution.
