• Can you describe your exact setup (I see that you are using M1) and the display configuration + the kinds of dummies used?
• Are you using DisplayLink by any chance?
• Are you using a rotated display?

Hmm. Are you using a Mac Mini with a single external display then? This seems to be a basic use case which should not cause issues.

Interestingly, an other user also experienced this exact error (on 1.0.7e with a complicated Portrait 3 display setup involving DisplayLink after he upgraded to Monterey from Big Sur).

I recommend the following procedure to try out first:

• Quit BetterDummy
• Remove ~/Library/Preferences/me.waydabber.BetterDummy.plist
• Remove ~/Library/Preferences/Byhost/com.apple.windowserver.displays.[LONG UUID HERE].plist
• Remove /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.displays.plist
• Remove all entries starting with Dummy from under /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays
• Reboot the Mac and login
• Run BetterDummy and configure a new dummy
