General question about performance

I don't know the details on how this works, but I wonder if this would slow the computer down or have some negative impact in terms of battery/performance? Thanks!

Not significantly but it depends on Mac model and graphics card.

Yes, me neither on my 2020 m1 mba. Intel machines might experience slowdowns however especially ones with Intel integrated graphics.

Does the Graphic Card has to Render the Desktop 2 Times? Or what does Duplicate mean. Graphic Card Render Desktop 1 time and then it will show on Dummy and Display realtime or does it will show on Dummy in realtime and then render or copy again to Display? Is the Desktop shown on Display an compressed/converted version of Dummy ?

I'm on M1 Max, I did not see a hugh improve in GPU usage. Did u measure a increase in input lag ? I will make a Donate now for your nice work !! :)

I did not do a scientific input lag measurement, just noted that I don't see any perceptible lag on M1. On Intel UHD I did not see lag either, only slowdowns when moving big windows and doing stuff that moves many pixels - but this problem is already present on Intel UHD even with a standard 4K scaled desktop so it wasn't a big surprise that using 6K-8K scaled resolutions would slow things down even further.

Ok, i will make some test and will report if there is less FPS in Games when using this.

I just testing gaming Warhammer 40.000 Dawn of War III and check FPS with and without Dummy and see no difference at all.
