Best settings to sharpen text for betterdisplay version 3

Hello everyone,

I recently got the AW3423 34 inch ultrawide oled monitor, and the first thing I noticed was that the text wasn't the sharpest. I followed the following guide on Imgur/reddit to try to sharpen the text:

I can't find many of these settings in the latest version of betterdisplay, so what settings should I enable to get the same result of text sharpening? What would work best for my monitor? Could I also use betterdisplay to reduce the color fringing problem around text that are apparent in all QD-OLED monitors?

People do have different sorrows and joys 🤣 . I was trying to find ways to reduce the over-sharpenning artifacts, while you are tyring to sharpen the text...

Anyway, I do believe these settings have no impact on sharpness & clarity. What matters is whether you enable the HiDPI.

It is very easy to enable it:

• (Optional) Enable the flexible scaling. Activate/Save the settings.

• Slide the resolution slider to scale the UI as you want. Then if the HiDPI is not enabled, enable it.

The color fringing problem around the text edge seems unsolvable to me. From my understanding this is already greatly improved over new QDOLED display panels. Experimenting with different display resolution may help as there is two layer of mechanisms that reduce the clarity (non-integer scaling + color friging due to the nature of the display panel). You may also experiment with the image adjustment options for each color channel.

@RyotaMono what about the oversharpened resolution/fonts? does the app with it's features support the problem? im having the issue on my 1440p monitors. Could'nt find any good solutions, adjustin AppleFontSmoothing and other smoothing flags on OS does not really solve the problem, what considering using the app but does it address it?
