Projector calibrator control (macOS issue)

I installed BetterDisplay and modified some settings on an external monitor connected to MBA M1, which broke the brightness setting. After increasing the brightness, it reverts to the minimum value when using the native macOS Calibration Assistant. I have tried resetting both monitor and BetterDisplay settings. I also did Exhaustive reset, no luck. Auto-adjusting brightness settings are disabled everywhere. Starting to think it's macOS Sequoia beta problem

Hmm. Honestly I don't recognize this calibrator assistant app (I might be ignorant, sorry about that). Is this a built-in macOS feature?

Yes, it's built-in feature to calibrate external monitor

Oh, it's a Projector calibration. Never seen that but I don't really use a projector either. :)

Anyway, do you have this issue when the app is not running?

Yes, even an Exhaustive reset didn't revert it. I have to use it because of my crappy monitor

Yes, it is probably a macOS issue then. Honestly I never saw this "Projector..." option there (I don't have it). Maybe it is there for analog connections only? If so, it is highly possible that it's buggy as Apple engineers tend to use their own, latest, shiniest tech the most so some of these bugs go unnoticed.

I'm using HDMI to Thunderbolt. As far as I know, this "Projector" thing has existed for years. There is no "Projector" option for the built-in display, though, only for external monitors. I guess I have to wait for the next beta release

Strange. Never seen this. Even when checking it with a HDMI TV. I think macOS must think the display is a projector for some reason to have this (and the underscan feature) enabled. Is this Intel or Apple Silicon?

Oh, it really thinks it's a projector hahahaha. Probably because of my cheap monitor. It is an M1 Macbook Air
