I have to keep reopening "BetterDisplay" 3 to 5 times a day on my M1 Macbook Pro. It eventually randomly disappears and closes. I found out that the process is not even running after I attempted to use my brightness keys to increase brightness level of my m1 macbook pro. I checked the activity monitor, etc. |

Are you using the latest v3.x version? There should be no such thing as silent crash, there are probably crash logs in the Console app, if you send it over, I can check it. |

Hi @waydabber , Yesterday, it was working as long as it didn't crash. However, today, it completely stopped working. It closes after 2 seconds I open the "BetterDisplay" app. I will try restarting my mac but before that I wanted the collect logs to help you out as a fellow developer. So, I opened the Console app then I cleared logs and then entered "waydabber" in the console search. At this point, BetterDisplay was already crashed/non functional/not icon on the menubar at the top, etc. Then, I started the BetterDisplay app. It stayed running for 2 seconds and then crashed(disappeared from taskbar, brightness went down from 160% to 100% instantly with no ability to adjust above 100%). Finally, I selected all console log lines and then dumped into txt file. I attached the logs at the end of this comment. Also, I want to say how much I love this app and how much I appreciate you for making this app. I use it daily to max out my laptop's brightness beyond what Apple allows so that I can use my macbook outside(bright sunlight). I never buy any premium apps but I actually bought this a year ago or so after seeing how good it is. Thank you so much for making this app. I hope it's something easy to fix so we all sequoia users can keep enjoying the app. EDIT: After restarting the macbook, it still closes itself after 2 seconds or so. It only stays running if my macbook's lid is closed and if I connected it to an external display. EDIT 2: When I click "check for updates" while using my external monitor to keep the app running, it says there are no new updates available. |

Hmm. I think you are still running the v1.x version of the app (based on the bundle identifier). Why don't you give a try to a more up-to-date version: https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/releases Sadly v1.x won't update to the current versions because of the deeper changes made when the app transitioned to v2.x a while back, so you'll need to start from scratch configuring the app. Let me know if you have any issue with the current version! |

I didn't realize there was a new version! This crash forced me to get the latest version. However, I don't know what happened to the concept of "dummy"? |
