Ok, the problem is that the numbering (1) and (2) in System Settings is not actually part of the display name, it's just something System Settings attached after the name, much like how BetterDisplay attaches numbers after the names of displays with the same name. Sometimes these randomly attached numbers (in order of detection) don't match up between the two. That's what causing the issue. If the displays are otherwise not confused by the system regularly, you can simply rename them as UltraFine Left and UltraFine Right in BetterDisplay (under Settings/Displays/display/Additional settings.../Custom display name). |
