Hello 👋, I'm searching for some help, I've being having troubles activating hidpi for my external monitor. Today it stopped working, I thought it was because it was the end of the trial so I just bought a license, but still, toggling hidpi for the external display still doesn't have any effect. I tried rebooting and reinstalling the app, but still no luck. I remember having to do some setup because I wanted to have a lower resolution than the default options allow (I wanted bigger text because I want to be able to code without my glasses on all the time), but I don't remember exactly what I did within the app, however after deinstalling those mods persisted on the system preferences: (See how the list have non-standard resolutions for this particular screen) So I'm unable to reset the app to the defaults so I can use Hidpi even with lower but still standard resolutions (which worked flawlessly the first time I installed the app) and recreate the state that worked before. If I set the wanted res (1280x800) or any other from the list it doesn't work, text & images are aliased and of course look horrible. The only resolution where it doesn't look that bad is the max 2560x1600 but that is unusable for me, text is too small. I used to work in 1920x1080, or even 1600x(1200 I guess?) which also didn't look that terrible, but those default resolutions are now gone from the system screen preferences panel. What to do 😅? |

Hi @crisrojas - I am not sure how things are set up, but to make sure everything is all right, it's just best to start over.
Then follow this to set up flexible scaling: https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/wiki/Fully-scalable-HiDPI-desktop#setting-up-flexible-scaling Hope this helps! Let me know if you are stuck! |
