Popup windows appearing in top left corner until relevant app is restarted

This has been happening with Popclip app for a long time. Resolves itself either by restarting Popclip or BetterDisplay. Other windows have been being forced to the top left in the same way don't remember which apps now though the problem is mainly with Popclip. Seems to happen randomly AFAIK but often after reboot.

Interesting. I am not sure why such a thing happens with Popclip - did you have a chance to reach out to them and ask about it? BetterDisplay does not do any active window management for other apps so it should not move things around (there is no code in the app that would do such a thing). Maybe this issue happens with a display configuration change?

Btw where would Popclip normally position its window?

Yeah I did it seems to be something related to BetterDisplay as it corrects itself by toggling internal display. See video:https://share.cleanshot.com/jzXHjxrt me showing this and other apps than popclip are affected.
I have LC27G7xT 27" G7 Oddyssey Samsung display. I suspect It's some kind of issue with it, that my currenct config that is res/hidpi/hz settings are not 100% supported or something. Should I use 2560x1439px? see

Maybe. But it is equally a Popclip thing (if that is the app that has this window positioned wrongly). I am not really sure what to change in BetterDisplay to make this go away as I think the app does generally cause any issue like this - but if Popclip devs tell me what the issue is and they can't fix on their side, I am super happy to cooperate in a fix! :)

Well, I don't know what to tell you, but it's not just PopClip, it's all popups for all apps. But the same goes, either restarting the relevant app or restarting BetterDisplay fixes it. What I do, of course, is restart BetterDisplay just to fix it across the board in one go 🙂. But what I've realized is much quicker is to just temporarily turn on my internal display for 1 second and turn it back off; this fixes it (or changing the resolution down and up on the external display. Anything which refreshes the display in macOS, it seems). Let's just say the culprit is the display, eh? 😁 (Stupid Samsung with no DDC/CI support. It's not very good).

But the problem only happens on reboot, so it's not much of a hassle. However, I was thinking that maybe the culprit could be this script I use:

Adding an action to turn on and off the internal display would probably fix it for me, but before I try any such gymnastics, I was just wondering if you had any advice on this in general. That is, if this script might be my problem (or if my script is just a more complex method of doing what I want than what is necessary). Which is to turn off the internal display on boot when my Mac is connected to an external display. Thanks!
