So you say the PIP works but the desktop background in the PIP window is black? Is it black in the source screen (from where the PIP window content is being streamed)? |

No, the physical iMac desktop background is not impacted, it is just inside the PIP. I can still use it but the background is just black. |

I see. Well, if this is the case then it seems to be a bug in ScreenCaptureKit (an Apple framework), for some reason it does not seem to compose the background to the streamed content. Does it get resolved if you restart the PIP? |

Note: checked the code - the desktop does not get excluded from the stream. On Monterey due to some additional firmware bugs+required workarounds some (technical) content is excluded but that should not affect the desktop. On Ventura and newer the entire display contents - as it is - should streamed. |

Hi,
I have an iMac, iPad Sidecar, and an external TV, The tv is my main display. I display the iMac in a PIP mode on the TV. The issue is that when the computer goes to sleep, and then wakes up, that PIP for the iMac is completely black, the screen is there. I can move windows to it, but the back ground, or the desktop picture is black (only in PIP not the rank iMac screen). This issue started happening recently within the last month only. The only way to get the display desktop back on the PIP is by switching to another display and set it as main display. Only then the iMac background will come back. It is an annoying bug.
Thank you
