Hi @tommo69 - is this a 4K display? Do you have 1920x1080 HiDPI if you connect the display directly? |

Yes, 4k
I have 1920x1080 hidpi if I connect directly via DisplayPort cable.
But my station doesn’t have display port.

Ok, this was just to establish a baseline. I am afraid the dock does not handle ***@***.*** resolutions or the HDMI cable is an older one which does not support this resolution. You should check the tech specs of the dock first.

Yes. You can try changing the HDMI cable or check if there is any setting on the display that specifically needs to be changed to get ***@***.*** (HDMI 2.0) - or if the display is HDMI 2.0 compatible. I don't understand much from the Italian product page but the dock seems to be using DisplayPort 1.4 alt mode (over USB-C) and a HDMI 2.0 converter chip - this should be all right with Apple Silicon Macs.

Mac OS X settings panel says default resolution is 1920x1080

You should check what is the reported native resolution for the display. If it is 2560x1440 then HDMI 2.0 does not work for some reason. Or 3840x2160 might be available only as 30Hz - that causes a similar problem.

Ok, great,
so all I have to do is to try a different cable.
Thank you, mate.

All right. With HDMI you have a native resolution of 2560x1080. If you select 1920x1080 HiDPI, it will still not output 3840x2160 but 2560x1440 (so the scaling won't be 2:1). For some reason HDMI 2.0 resolutions don't work either with the dock, the HDMI cable or the display. Since the dock is advertised to be compatible with ***@***.***, it must be either the cable or the display.

Hi there, I hope to find you well.
Was wondering how to master my MacBook volume (audio is connected to a samsung display) via keyboard, just like I do with brightness keys.
I tried assigning the key to it but it doesn’t work. I cannot control audio.
Ideas?

Hi there,
I have a 28" Samsung display connected via multi port station to my m1 MacBook Air (Ventura) over hdmi port.
My preferred resolution is 60hz hidpi 1920x1080, and whilst Better Display lets me set it, it seems to me that this 1920x1080 is not hidpi at all. Any ideas?
