TotalFinder was recently updated to work on M1 Macs. Maybe that would be an acceptable alternative for you if ColorfulSidebar has been abandoned.

thanks, I'm also on that thread (Leo_B).

as you know then, custom sidebar icons still don't work in TF. plus TF never supported custom icons in the open/save dialogs sidebar.

i actually want to point the TF developer to this project (unless he already saw it) - maybe the code will help him make custom icons work in TF (or maybe he can revive this project).

Same problem, installing colorfulSidebarX makes the whole system crash. I told @w0lfschild about it multiple times already, hope this gets fixed soon
