Adding row number for datatable

Hello,
Is there a way to add a row number to a v-datatable? I know that I could use the index but I actually don't want to have the row-number scoped to the item but rather have a fixed value. As soon as you apply sorting the row numbers are mixed up (check screenshots).
Could it be possible to expose this in the scoped slot as well ?
