Under which conditions is "restart frame" available?

I see it on a few frames but not all. Can this be influenced with compile flags or otherwise?

It is always available, though, presumably, it might fail, depending on the current IP location.
Note that currently it is implemented as return from frame, which is the closest thing to "restart" that LLDB supports.

Hm, when I hover over the frames, then only some of them have the icon for restart frame. Is that expected?

Possibly because frames without source info are tagged with presentation_hint:"subtle", so VSCode doesn't render "restart" icon for them. Not sure why they do it this way. However, the command is still available through the context menu.

The context menu contains it, thanks for the hint. I'm not sure what source info means but all the frames have resolved source files.

"Source info" = having resolved source files. In that case I don't know why VSCode decides to show some frames differently. On the adapter level "restart frame" is advertised as always available.

What's interesting actually is that the source file name and line number is shown only on a few frames and on those the restart button appears, but if I click on a frame that doesn't have the annotation I still get into the source just fine.
