@tsutterley just checking in on this one! Happy to help draft some learning and perhaps a consolidated notebook based on past years. Or are you planning on a slide deck?

hey @scottyhq

I've gone back and forth on the best format for the mission overview. I started making a new notebook from scratch to mix it up from last year. However, I sort of decided it was too distracting as it ends up focusing more on the code than the content. So right now I am revamping and updating the slide deck. But I am still working on the notebook as it makes the figures I'm using in the slide deck, so I might include it after I add some markdown commentary.

Current Structure:

  • Mission Objectives
  • ATLAS and instrumentation overview
  • ICESat-2 data product production
  • ICESat-2 file naming convention
  • ICESat-2 file structure
  • ICESat-2 product overview
    • ATL03
    • ATL04 and ATL09
    • ATL08
    • ATL18
    • ATL06
    • ATL11
    • ATL14 and ATL15
    • ATL07
    • ATL10
    • ATL20
    • ATL21
    • ATL12
    • ATL19 and ATL23
  • Future Mission Outlook

Wow - both sound like they'll be incredible resources for the hackweek and the Science Team! I like how you've linked the products logically (rather than keeping them in numerical order). Feel free to add your draft at any time to the IS2 JupyterBook - I'm excited to see it!
