As far as I'm aware in USD many things can be bound to something / have time samples attached to them but I haven't seen a comprehensive list or simple examples on the various ways that can be achieved.

Some examples of what I think would be interesting:

  • structurally simple minimal cases
  • structurally complex but content-wise minimal samples
  • various ways of animating xform transforms (e.g. via pos/rot/scale or transform)
  • examples for material animation
  • minimal skinned mesh animation examples
  • examples on how to reference animation data on multiple objects
  • examples on how to reference animation data from other files

and probably more. Some of them might be trivial once there's better payload/referencing samples but I think it's still valuable to have some of these specifically for animation.
