I am having the same problem as #262 subtitles crashing the player, but this is the only bug I had faced. This doesn't happen with mpv.net or vlc
I am currently watching an anime called Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan 2, starting in episode 13 the player crashes unless subtitles are disabled or I skip the opening, this is probably due to some effects that the subtitles are using. Below I'll include some of the beggining lines of the episode that has issues, and an episode that doesn't have any issues, the subtitles were extracted from the video
Sorry about neglecting this issue, in truth I don't really much I can do.
We don't really do anything specific in baka-mplayer with subtitles, we just load the file with mpv. And in-fact, it's likely that mpv in-turn passes the file over to libass.
If this works in current mpv, then the likely suspect is that the baka-mplayer was built using an older version of libmpv which would have had this issue (a quick search of crashing .ass files in mpv shows some stuff). The solution should be to rebuild baka-mplayer with the most recent version of libmpv.
Please let me know if there is any other way I can help.
