MockingbirdSupport and MockingbirdCache directories

I can't seem to find information anywhere on whether or not I should disable these, ignore the dirs via .gitignore, or check these directories into the repo. Can someone shed some light as to what these directories are for and what I should do with them?

It appears some of these files are updated frequently, including the project.pbxproj Xcode file, so curious as to what best practices are for these directories.
