Describe the bug

I am not sure what's going on, I must be probably missing something:

I have defined a filter-in for 22\/May\/2026 (or 22/May/2026) but entries for 23/May/2026 also keep showing. The number of hits is correct, I have verified with zgrep. Why are other entries showing?

Could it be that entries containing 23/May/2026 also contain 22/May/2026 somewhere, thus are matching the filter?

It is a valid question, but no, they do not contain another timestamp, these are simple nginx log lines.

I validated the number of hits with zgrep and also checked its output:

% zgrep -c '22/May/2026' log.2026-05-17.gz log.2026-05-24.gz
log.2026-05-17.gz:0
log.2026-05-24.gz:42824
% zgrep '22/May/2026' log.2026-05-17.gz log.2026-05-24.gz | grep -c '23/May'
0

The number of hits in lnav is exactly the same, the number of shown lines also (42,824), but it's showing different lines 😢

I thought the strange results might be because of #1706, but I uncompressed the files and I can still reproduce this every time.

When the filter is enabled:

;select * from access_log where date(log_time) = date('2026-05-22')
✔ SQL Result: 40768

Filter disabled (all file shows):

;select * from access_log where date(log_time) = date('2026-05-22')
✔ SQL Result: 43393

Really not sure what is going on anymore...
