It's a pity that this repo was created from scratch rather than as a fork of the upstream repo since it makes doing comparisons of this repo against the upstream repo impossible now.
I wonder if the ship has sailed on that completely now or whether you can still somehow manage to (maybe after deleting) re-create this repo as a fork of the upstream repo and then recreate your fork branch in it.
It would be really useful to be able to do comparisons of this repo with the upstream/official repo.

Oh. NVM. I didn't realise that upstream is a GitLab repo, not a GitHub repo.
That said, if you'd rather work in GitHub than GitLab (I wouldn't blame you in the least) making (and maintaining) this repo a sync of the GL repo would allow upstream comparisons to continue to be done.
