How to set all UI element visible on pause?

I tried updating mpv/scripts/uosc/main.lua 's defaults = {} as:

timeline_persistency = 'paused',
controls_persistency = 'paused',
volume_persistency = 'paused',
speed_persistency = 'paused',
top_bar_persistency = 'paused',

Please let me know if this isn't the way.
I'm trying to have all UI element visible on pause.

You should put this in script-opts/uosc.conf, not modify uosc source. Those defaults are probably getting overridden by your uosc.conf. The documentation where to download default config file with all default options and their documentation is in the readme.
