Moving to a dedicated NUC
docker ps # Find the name of the docker
docker stop homeassistant # Stop the docker container
docker rm homeassistant # Remove the docker container
Installed joplin server using https://hub.docker.com/r/joplin/server and the docker compose file:
- https://noted.lol/install-joplin-server-using-docker-compose/
Ended up not deploying and using MS onedrive instead.
Moved away from backing up websites using rsync to rclone as one.com increased prices of accessing using SSH, but not SFTP.
The backup is now done monthly by running rclone-backup-website.sh
through crontab.
00 3 1 * * /home/tjansson/bin/rclone-backup-website.sh
The rsnapshot backup also does no longer directly backup website, but used the local copies.
So as it can be seen in https://www.home-assistant.io/installation the container version of home-assistant does not support all the functionality, but I have kept it for now as the kvm setup is a bit involved at the moment as I need bios changes.
docker run -d \
--name homeassistant \
--privileged \
--restart=unless-stopped \
-e TZ=Europe/Copenhagen \
-v /etc/home-assistant/:/config \
--network=host \
ghcr.io/home-assistant/home-assistant:stable
Things to setup
- Roborock
- Landroid
- Temperature sensors
- Spotify
- Control heating system
- Wallbox/Monta
- Weather
- Electricity price, nordpool, el-pricer
After reinstalling docker using https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/debian/
docker system prune -af
was needed to clean up old images.

Setup: HACS with https://hacs.xyz/docs/setup/download for container
The problem seems to be libsvtav1enc0
sudo apt remove libsvtav1enc0 libavif14 libavif-dev libgd-dev
More apt issues removed more unused packages
sudo apt remove libfreerdp2-2 libfreerdp-client2-2 libfreerdp-server2-2 gnome-remote-desktop gnome-control-center
libavcodec59
Problems with apt, uninstalled unneeded libs. Fixed with as sudo dpkg --configure -a
, sudo apt-get install -f
didn't
work
sudo dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq libavcodec59 libavformat59 libgegl-0.4-0 gimp libgimp2.0 xsane
libchromaprint-tools picard

Disabled netdata alltogether as it is waking the server and is not used.
sudo service netdata stop # Kill it now
sudo systemctl disable netdata # Stop from running at boot
Disabled netdata spamming apache acces_log:
sudo /etc/netdata/edit-config python.d/apache.conf
Commented out all the logging. Munin monitoring is enough
Not used anymore.
sudo service x2goserver stop # Kill it now
sudo systemctl disable x2goserver # Stop from running at boot
Was taking up way to much CPU and not used
sudo service avahi-daemon stop # Kill it now
sudo systemctl disable avahi-daemon # Stop from running at boot
I am not using it anymore and have disabled it:
sudo service gkrellmd stop # Kill it now
sudo systemctl disable gkrellmd # Stop from running at boot
