The mod manager becomes fairly bothersome to use once a game has been updated several times. For example, if you look at Lethal Company, loads of mods do not work with the latest game version and have been abandoned. Actually finding which mod is causing conflicts can be fairly difficult.

It would be nice if there was some kind of system to be able to find issues or incompatibilities with mods. I would suggest one of the following:

  • Add the ability for the creator to specify a specific game version
  • Add a system for the community to vote on if a specific game version works with the mod
  • Add the ability for community notes for known issues on mod+game versions (This could be nicely integrated at some point in the mod manager with a warning)

We definitely need this feature. Bump.

This could work, however sometimes people don't know how to install a mod correctly and would therefore mark it as not working. If its a new update for the mod or people don't like the mod and think it's a dislike button then mods that work for the latest version wouldn't show up. I'm also worried about the fact that for every game that updates, this would require a new update to thunderstore and also maybe the managers to add the new version + require the mod developer to say: Oh yes this works for this version. ( + What if its actually broken ).

I like the idea of the creator being able to say as apart of the page without putting it in the readme like: "Martijnpold's Teleporter" is incompatible with "Martijnpold's Teleporter v2 separate mod edition" which could also be similar to the mod managers "? mods need an update. Update now?". A separate thing could be "Hey! ? mods are incompatible, view them now?".

Edit: This post is really old but thought I would comment this
