LSST, a similar pipeline in astronomy, utilizes not only jupyter lab but jupyter hub in Kubernetes. Our plans for our current jupyter notebook is construction with deployment utilizing Cyverse DE so I assume they will handle most of the deployment issues like security and such but it could still be useful to consider how we might do it, weigh in some possible pros and cons.
