Summer Plan 2013

Introduction

Hey guys,

I thought it might be a good idea to get up a Wiki page with our plans for the summer and ideas so we can have a common space to work through problems and divy up ideas. To begin, here is the stuff from out last phone meeting:

Caching (John):

I've put this on Rankings, now I need to put it everywhere else that might benefit.

Rankings (John):

Overall rankings are ready to go with a initial load of 500 courses. As mentioned in Issue 1, a better solution needs to be found for A) Loading so many courses and B) adding an option to exclude ones that aren't being taught. This can be added to the model database as a boolean and re-calculated each save(). I think I can also add /rankings/DEPT and just load those, which should be very quick and kinda nifty. We can also make the navbar rankings link a dropdown will all the depts that take you to that page.

Course.Model change (John):

Searching by Time (Matt):

We should open a new issue for this to discuss it (complex)

Course Loads (Yacob/John ?)

Adding course loads via scraping.

Email feedback option (John)

Take down to free-tier AWS instance...

Is this safe? Perhaps an issue for this too.
