I would like to suggest a better utilization of vertical screen space for the PDF viewer.
Rationale:
Nowadays most Laptop displays come with wide aspect ratios of 16:9 and a relatively low vertical resolution of 1080 pixels.
Some people, like myself, prefer to view whole pages of a PDF document ("Fit to Page" viewing mode).
The advantage is, that one can process the page in a visual-spatial manner, if one can see the page as a whole. For some people, this is helpful in memorizing and retention.
This is not possible, if one sees only part of the page.
Moreover, seeing only part of the page necessitates constant scrolling, which is cumbersome.
Possible solutions:
a full screen mode, that removes all UI elements
Options to toggle the displaying of the top toolbar and the bottom status bar
