DILEMMA: Choose between: Unwanted PDF reopening OR Window maximize bug

When using the following settings:

RememberStatePerDocument = true
RestoreSession = false

SumatraPDF correctly remembers the last viewed page for each PDF, without reopening all previous files, which is great.

However, this causes a window behavior bug:

The window does not open maximized, even if it was before.

Clicking the maximize button does nothing the first time.

It requires two clicks to properly maximize.

If I set RestoreSession = true, the window state is restored correctly — but then all previous files reopen, which I don’t want.

looks similar to a different issue which I hope never more see in the final 3.6, a very distractive behavior

Yes, you are absolutely right. This is exactly the same issue I've been trying to demonstrate. You can try to reproduce it just like I posted here. It's a strange behavior. You need to double-click the maximize window icon for it to take effect. The window doesn't maximize on the first click — it takes two clicks for the window to maximize.

I upgraded to 3.6 to solve another bug, and now I have this bug instead.

It's not that you need to click the maximize twice. It's: the window state is maximized, nevertheless its size is also set to a half screen. So you need to click once to get back to normal and then again to maximize.

Related to opening, the prerelease shows its standard new screen and then jumps and loads a file, which causes a delay--and a white flash since I use inverted mode to view docs.

The following seems to help.

Search for the first occurrence in SumatraPDF-settings.txt

# You're not expected to change those manually
...
WindowPos = 108 0 1827 540

and change it to

WindowPos = 50 0 1827 1080

That is, if I set the window size large enough, then maximization holds.
