cannot login, local oauth server not accessible

Hi folks

just trying to get started with streamlink twitch gui. when i click the login button it opens twitch oauth prompt and asks me to authorise as my twitch user, when i click the authorise button it redirects to the localhost oauth instance (http://localhost:65432) but fails at that point with a "site can't be reached" error in chrome. i have tried copy/pasting the url string into firefox to see if that would work but same error.

are there known issues with logging in under some circumstances? running windows 10, latest streamlink twitch gui build 2.5.3, sreamlink 7.0.0.

can i fix this, or are there alternative ways to get logged in? cheers.

Unblock Streamlink Twitch GUI from your system's firewall, so it can launch its webserver where your web browser will be redirected to after authenticating on Twitch, namely http://localhost:65432

hmm thanks. for some reason it didn't pop up windows firewall when i launched. i tried adding the appropriate port to windows firewall but it still didn't work, so i just took the token and used the manual method and that worked.

Another source of error could be

• localhost doesn't resolve to 127.0.0.1
• your web browser doesn't allow unencrypted (non-HTTPS) connections to localhost (this is not the default configuration in any web browser)
• web browser extensions/addons preventing access
• the local web server was closed by STG by aborting the authentication procedure before it completed
