Bug Report

Problem

i didnt log into my 86doteth-test account on mobile for a few months and on desktop for over a month.

now new community messages dont load by themselves anymore as unread messages. instead i need to go to every channel in every community and press the ‘fetch messages’ button. doing that does get almost all messages quickly since pressing that button the previous time so no problem there, just the fact i need to manually press the button every time

Expected behavior

new community messages load by themselves whenever i open the app. so that as a casual user checking out the app again after a few months i dont think all the communities are dead and havent had any posts in those months

Actual behavior

i need to manually tap ‘fetch messages’ in the context menu of each community channel to see new messages. otherwise i will conclude there have been no new messages in months and communities are dead

Reproduction

  1. have account with a few communities
  2. dont login to account for over a month
  3. open app and wait for minutes; see no new messages since last login
  4. go to any channel and tap fetch messages; messages of past week/month promptly load

Additional Information

  • Status version: 2.32
  • Operating System: iOS

Author

logged in a few days later to the same account on mobile again and it seems to be fetching new messages by itself now 🤔
