nasher should run correctly out-of-the-box provided:

  • nwnsc is installed and in your PATH
  • NWN is installed with Steam in the default location for your OS
  • Your NWN user directory is in the default location for your OS

However, new users apparently get tripped up by this a lot and it's difficult for them to figure out how to configure nasher appropriately. Documentation improvements (#53) can help with this, and nasher can do better with finding NWN in other installation paths (#40). However, a dialog that helps the user set the appropriate configuration options (similar to the one used for nasher init) would be helpful for new users.

That's okay. nasher should now check for Steam, GOG, and Beamdog installs automatically. If it has any trouble, file an issue and we'll try to help.

I appreciate the support!! well i can say now that I personally had issues with various things when using git-bash on win 11 pro - (there were other reasons i believe for that) BUT doing everything with wsl2/Ubuntu is easier - now it's on to the next step. ty :-)
