Hi, I'm Danny, the guy who runs Keebio, a mechanical keyboard store that primarily specializes in split keyboard layouts and other DIY kits. Some of you may know me as bakingpy
on some different platforms. Nearly all of the designs on the store have been designed by myself, and I work on a few projects related to that. It used to be my side-gig, but now it's my full-time job, making sure that store operations keep moving along and getting designs produced.
Part-time, I work as a software engineer based in North Carolina, USA. I mainly sling around Swift/Objective-C/C# code for Windows, iOS, and macOS apps. All of this code is typed out on my various mechanical keyboards of course.
Some of the open-source work I do:
- QMK Firmware, a mechanical keyboard firmware - I'm a Collaborator on the project and do things like reviewing PRs, answering questions on the QMK Discord server, etc.
- QMK Toolbox - Tool for flashing keyboards with QMK
- Keebio KiCAD Footprints - My own library of various KiCAD footprints used in designing keyboard PCBs
- Keyboard case designs - For most of my boards, I've released files that can be used to create plates and some 3D printed designs
- Keyboard Plate Generator - An alternative keyboard switch plate generator that allows for a live-preview of generated plate cutouts based on KLE layout data (still a work-in-progress)
With your sponsorship, I'll be able to devote some more time towards more cool keyboard designs, maintaining my repositories a bit better, review QMK PRs, and creating other neat projects. I've also started to open-source some of my previous keyboard PCB designs. One of the things I'd also like to work more on are tools to help make the keyboard PCB design process easier, and I've done some initial work on that. Any contribution is appreciated!
