Compatibility between 4.16 and 4.17, recommendations? 🙏

Hi Patrick,

I am still learning and working on the same layout (not a good a student) but I am having some issue passing the current code to 4.17, I tried to follow this recommendations:

But anytime I get this output:

My code works fine fine with 4.16 but I believe is more strategic moving forward to 4.17.

Do you have any recommendation to migrate the XML from the old version to the new one?

The version 4.17.7 should give better error messages.

I assume you have required lxpath and/or harfbuzz, but run the speedata Publisher with a configuration that sets either luxor or fontforge.

Do you use a config file? Look for lines starting with fontloader and xpath.
Do you set the configuraiton on the command line? --xpath sets the mode (use --xpath lxpath).

That said, it could be another error, of course..

There should no need to migrate anything. Everything should work out of the box.

Do you recommend to setup some settings in the config file?

Perhaps I was using one because I was trying to pass TIFF images to image magick, I have to check-up if I was doing this locally or my main user... (at least on window)

I usually don't have many settings in the config file. Mainly the filter (a Lua script that converts some XML data into a nicer XML format) or the number of publishing runs if I have table of contents or similar information that needs additional runs.

Hi Patrick, I clean the CFG and create a newer one.
However I have a revision that worked fine with 4.16 but it doesn't work with 4.17, this is the base that I am trying add another element. Perhaps I need to fix this before to add another switch case.
