Description
Tried it, got it to work but the performance of the ide simulator was a huge downgrade from running a simulator outside the ide. This was done on iOS.

To me this would be a hurdle to get over to transition to using this over the regular simulator

Environment

  • Expo 51
  • Expo Router

What version did you try? 0.0.15 performance is very similar to the simulator on my m1 14" mpb

I tested this initially on 0.0.14 on my m1 max. I tested again today using 0.0.15 and it seems to be much better :) So we can maybe close this if no one else has this issue

Tested some more, I still would say there is a noticeable difference in the performance which makes scroll feeling janky in the RNIDE compared to regular simulator for iOS. It is however as I said above, much better in 0.0.15. This was again tested on m1 max. 0.0.15
