Describes crafting model.

  • crafting overhaul
  • simple mixing in hand only (combine 2 items == mixing)
  • workbench for all shaped design
  • requiring a tool for shaped designs (hammer for making ladder out of sticks)
  • overhaul of cooking
  • stove / fireplace for cooking food (pot needed?)
  • furnace for baking low temperature stuff (tin)
  • forge for metal working
  • anvil + hammer for shaped metal working

Describes material progression
Very little duplicate tools (no 4 versions of the sword)
Heavy use of available metal types

Maybe require the player to find a book with the blueprints for certain items/blocks before they can be crafted. This would encourage the player to explore the world more. Related to #11

I have no issues with the model where players use external wikis to figure out recipes, but I find it highly desirable that there is some sort of "collection" that the player can build. This will promote the player to go out and complete their collection. So ideally, We'd have all crafting recipes in some sort of collectible journal that the player can consult.
