Why did you join sktime's mentorship program?

I wanted to join sktime's mentorship program for mainly below 2 points-

• Gain a solid understanding of deep learning, time series forecasting and how sktime's forecasting module works.
• Learn best practices for contributing to open-source projects, including writing clean, maintainable code, and testing.

What topics are you working on?

Right now, I am working on an issue regarding PyTorchForecastingTFT model. And also looking forward to implement deep learning based models in sktime.

1. [BUG] PytorchForecastingTFT does not handle static categoricals correctly sktime#7686 (bugfix)
2. [ENH] wishlist for de-novo implementations of torch based models sktime#6660 (implementation)

What are your learning goals?

1. I want to get well versed in Deep learning, Time Series concepts and Sktime architecture.
2. I want to improve myself as an Open Source Contributor.

What's next for you after the mentorship program?

After the mentorship program, I will continue with my Open Source Contributions in Sktime and other open source projects.
