Extra parameters in /search endpoint

Is there a way to include additional parameters in the request body sent to the /search endpoint? No matter what I do the request body only consists of {"target":""}. The reason for this is that I'd like to implement a logic on the metrics being responded to Grafana, for example, choose only a subset of the available metrics based on some extra parameter.

IIRC there's no way right now other that the default params. You can set dashboard variable, that will get propagated to the request.

The variables I create inside the Variables > Edit page only propagate to the request body sent to the /query endpoint but not to the /search one.
