What feature or enhancement are you requesting?

The request for a more flexible search was originally submitted in issue #217, an issue focused on increasing search performance. In addition to increasing the performance, the request asked to make the search more flexible (ignoring apostrophes for example).

This issue was created to isolate the feature of increasing search flexibility.
