Create new item AND add to database

I have not been able to successfully implement the following:
I am using Selectize with DataTables.net.
Can I create a new item (create: true) and have it added to my (mySQL) database?

sure, you can use create property as function, and in this function you can add it into you'r DB easily.
By default, create method is this :

		key = self.settings.formatValueToKey.apply(this, [key]);

So, you can copy/paste this into your create property and add your ajax for add into DB, for example :
